Kinesio Taping

Kinesio taping is a treatment method used to assist and support or to prevent over contraction of muscles by taping over and around certain muscles or muscle groups to reduce pain and inflammation. In addition, it can also aid in relaxing overused muscles, and to assist muscles in movement during a normal active day. The taping is not restrictive and allows the patient to have normal functional range of motion. Patients who suffer from the following conditions may benefit from Kinesio taping: lower back strain/pain (subluxations, herniated disc), knee conditions, shoulder conditions, hamstring, groin injury, rotator cuff injury, whiplash, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, patella tracking, pre- and post-surgical edema, ankle sprains, athletic preventive injury method and as a support method. Our physical therapists at Total Care Physical therapist will evaluate and assess your condition and determine if you will benefit from kinesio taping.
